hiatus
Okay, so it's been 2 1/2 months since I last blogged. There hasn't been much sewing lately anyway so there's not much to report on that front. At least three unfinished projects sit on my worktable. Sigh...
Once again, I am shamed into action by Kate's industriousness. (sp? I'm sure Kate can tell me if I'm right or not...) Not only has she lost tons of weight, but she's on a sewing tear, creating a whole new wardrobe for herself. Kate, let me know what drives you - I need some of it! I've been not sewing and piling on the pounds lately. Not doing much of anything lately.
Still training for the Breast Cancer Three Day - it was 14 miles on Saturday and 16 on Sunday. It was meant to be 18 and 12, but we had to cut the first walk short because it was thundering and lightning out. Rain doesn't stop us, but lightning does. Next week, we are walking 12 miles on Saturday (including the Komen North Texas Race for the Cure) and nothing on Sunday. Then... June 10-11-12 is the Big Event. I can't wait! When we did this three years ago, I had no idea what to expect. It was a life changing experience. Rumor has it there will be 2300 people walking this year. And then I get my weekends back- yeah. :-)
On the house front, we finished re-doing our backyard, which looks FANTASTIC. Really couldn't be happier with the result. A few more things need to be done - a hummingbird friendly climber for the arbor, maybe some hanging plants there as well. More solar powered lights for the walkways. Oh yeah, and the door to the bedroom. Must get cracking on the final details.
I think I'm going to order a bunch of baby fleece from Malden Mills, a bunch of embroidery blanks and crank out the gifts I'm behind on (two co-workers - John in the US and Jennifer int he UK - have had babies, as well as my friend Kimberly who is having twin girls Real Soon Now.)
Staring My First Quilting Class tomorrow - at my favorite fabric store, Fabric Affair. My bud Jen and I are taking "Your Night Out with Dana" where we are going to make a table runner. I've picked a vine/leaf theme with cream, sage green and navy blue fabrics. I need to zigzag the edges and preshrink them today, and pack 'em up for tomorrow. It looks like six of us for the class, which is probably the right size for something like this.

I understand you to be unteachable. :-)
If you drag your machine up to Oklahoma, I will teach.
