The streak continues...

The sewing machine has, ahem, remained idle, yet I feel this urge to keep the consecutive days blogging going, so once again, we present... an Off-Topic Post.

I did indeed get James to buy into repainting half the sewing room with a lighter version of what is in there now, which I will freely admit makes the room waaaaaay too dark to use. I need to dig out the little color card from the paint store that has Fresh Honeydew on it and go up a few swatches to where it is lighter. James is motivated to get a different color going on in there because he (quite rightly) thinks it will have to be repainted anyway if we want to sell the house at any time in the future (what, not everyone wants a lime green bedroom?) While he is back in Blighty this week, I have a trip to the paint store on my plate.

Kitchen update: pantry was emptied, cleaned, sorted through (large portion of out-of-date food items) and refilled in a slightly different layout. The new breadmaker is living in there, as it is too tall for the cabinets. Several other items were set aside for Katie (she leaves at the end of July for CU Boulder) and some things for Goodwill (mismatched cutlery). New electrics need to be relocated as well. I'd like to have a "wine" area of the kitchen, a "baking" area (which would be for me, Chef James only does main courses, I'm the sous- and pastry chef in the house). But now I'm kind of beat, so that'll have to remain for another day or so...

Sewing (no, really) - I found a new project for myself last night in Clotilde's Sewing Savvy magazine (July 2004) - a Bridal Memories Box, which is extremely timely. Plus if it works out alright, I can make one for my friends Mike and Laina, who are getting married in October this year.
